How it works

The Codilink system combines our intelligent and secure IRIS software platform with your promotional channel (or channels), and hardware that reads and redeems barcodes. And we bring all this together with advice and support to help you launch highly effective and creative promotional campaigns.

More about the three main elements:

The promotional channels

In our world of multiple communication channels, consumers expect to use the media channel they're most comfortable with. Which is why you can apply our system to a range of technologies and media.

You can issue vouchers, coupons and loyalty cards through:

  • traditional paper coupons
  • reusable plastic or paper cards
  • email
  • mobile phones, via SMS or MMS
  • customisable mobile apps.

All these channels can use barcodes, magnetic swipe or NFC/RFID technology.

The software platform

Our IRIS platform is a carrier-grade transactions management platform, which can issue hundreds of millions of unique codes, all with high levels of data obfuscation and encryption.

You can validate these codes in real-time against an infinite number of different business rules, eliminating all possible fraud.

IRIS can handle multiple vouchers held on a single code, enabling you to produce rechargeable cards as well as individual cheques or vouchers.

The platform provides full media deployment tools, letting you issue the vouchers through any media channel you choose (see below).

It then provides real-time error-proof reconciliation with sophisticated invoicing and billing.

You can view reports at any time through live statistical tools.

Making payments or receiving funds for vouchers or gift cards are all standard functions.

A suite of fraud prevention rules and alerts is also standard.

IRIS can be linked to any management, CRM or accounting system.

This technology has proved itself by processing over 500 million coupons and loyalty cards.

It's also easy to use.

The in-store hardware

To make in-store tracking easier, we've designed the Codilink system to work through existing devices wherever possible. It can use any of these redemption mechanisms:

PCs

If you have a PC and don't want to use anything else to redeem codes, we offer a secure web application that will run on any internet-enabled PC. You simply plug in a USB barcode scanner, use a webcam, or type in the code number for instant redemption. Online retailers can also use this to issue and redeem secure vouchers for their own stores.

Stand-alone scanners

You may want a stand-alone device - for example, if you have a temporary location where you don't want to install any hardware. If so, we provide low-cost scanning hardware that just needs a power supply. It connects through mobile networks, and takes up only 10cm2 on your counter, so it's ideal for short-term promotions or trials, or locations where EPOS integration might take too long.

Your own mobile phone

We can provide software that converts mobile phones into voucher redemption devices. All you do is download the software, and register your phone with us. Then you can use it to track and redeem our vouchers. Contact us for more information.

Existing EPOS software

Codilink's IRIS redemption platform can integrate easily with any modern EPOS software. We provide a complete list of tested APIs for simple integration, letting you use whatever hardware you already have, without the need for costly capital expenditure. Contact us for more details and a list of software providers we already work with.

Existing payment terminals

We've teamed up with payment providers Payzone and Paypoint - so if you're among the 40,000 retailers with one of their devices, you can use it to redeem vouchers immediately. Please contact our sister company Big Red Voucher for more details.
